Thirty Grand

As we commemorate our three-year anniversary, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on this incredible achievement and share some valuable insights with you.

Let's rewind to June 2020, right in the midst of the pandemic. It was a time of uncertainty, but I decided to take a leap of faith and start my business, Push. I focused on business coaching, believing that my experience and skills would naturally attract clients. However, I quickly learned a valuable lesson: success doesn't come from sitting and waiting for opportunities to come knocking at your door.

I was doing live sessions every month, showcasing my expertise and sharing valuable content but in between those moments, I wasn't taking consistent action to market myself effectively. I had a misconception common among small business owners—we think that being good at what we do is enough to attract clients but that's not the case. We have to proactively share our value, create meaningful connections, and showcase what sets us apart.

It's crucial to market ourselves, share our stories, and communicate the value we provide. Looking back, I realized that I could have done more to put myself out there. I celebrated when someone booked a consultation, only to find that they weren't the right fit or couldn't afford my services. It was a humbling experience, and I started questioning myself, wondering if I should go back to a traditional job.

But then, an unexpected opportunity came my way. I reached out to a nonprofit organization, expressing my interest in potential collaborations. Little did I know that this would be the turning point. They had a proposal with two positions—one paying $50,000 and the other $30,000. And guess what? I set my sights on the higher-paying one!

During the interview process, they offered me the $30,000 position, as they felt it was the best fit. I was overjoyed, clicking my heels in excitement! This opportunity came at the right time, and it taught me valuable lessons along the way.

So here are the takeaways I want to share with you:

1️⃣ Be open and discerning: Sometimes, opportunities present themselves in unexpected ways. Don't rush, and be open to possibilities. Trust that the right doors will open for you when the time is right.

2️⃣ Don't settle for less: Believe in your worth and don't be afraid to aim high. Even if you may not possess all the qualifications, have the confidence to pursue what you truly deserve.

3️⃣ Stay committed to the journey: Success rarely happens overnight. It took me five months of persistence, closed doors, and moments of doubt to reach this breakthrough. Don't give up. Keep pushing forward, even when faced with challenges.

I want to encourage all of you who may be feeling discouraged or struggling to see progress in your own ventures to know that breakthroughs are possible. If I can achieve a significant contract in a short period doing work I'm truly passionate about, so can you!

When you love what you do, it doesn't feel like work. It becomes a fulfilling journey where you make meaningful connections, create impact, and experience personal growth. Keep pursuing your purpose with unwavering determination, and success will follow.
